Mallorca’s Abdon Prats came closest for the islanders, with a volley midway through the first half and another low shot just off target early in the second.
Socieded will be the favourites to progress from the second leg on February 27th, though Mallorca still hopes to defend their Copa del Rey title from 2003.
On Wednesday, Atletico Madrid will play the first leg of the other semi-final against Athletic Bilbao.
